Barrington Venables

Barrington Venables, Trombone Soloist

Barrington Venables traded in his cornet for a tenor trombone back in 2004. After this epiphany, there was no going back. And he has been performing and recording with a variety of professional quality musical ensembles ever since.

As principal trombone and soloist with the Canadian staff band, between 2006-2008, Barrington travelled to such places as Mexico City, Los Angeles California, and several cities across Canada. In 2012, he received his Bachelor of Music Performance degree from the University of Toronto.

Barrington is currently an active freelance trombonist in the Greater Toronto Area, and performs with groups such as the Hannaford Street Silver Band, the Rose Orchestra in Brampton Ontario, Intrada Brass of Oakville, and his own family brass ensemble called Venabrass. In 2013, he embarked on a tour of the United Kingdom as principal trombone and soloist with the North York Temple Band, and performed with the world famous Corey band. Barrington is also a member of I Tromboni, an innovative chamber ensemble known as the Team Canada of Trombones.
