Master Class

Temporary Header for 2023 G&C Concert March 4, 2023

This information has not been updated for the 2022 concert as everything changed with the Pandemic.

Each year we plan to provide some type of Master Class, Clinic or another educational opportunity for youth brass and percussion musicians.  The format of the actual ‘Master Class’ will therefore change annually to fit best with our rehearsal scheduling, guest band arrival times, and whether we have a guest artist.

We invite those students with advanced registration to join the bands – not only in their joint rehearsal after the class but also at our pre-concert dinner as our guests.  This offer is for the participating student only.  Due to space constraints and costs, we cannot extend a dinner invitation to others including parents.  However, our location is proximal to dozens of restaurants of all types in the Mill Run area.

Those who have not pre-registered and are confirmed as a dinner guest are still welcome to stay for the rehearsal, and we hope will grab a quick meal nearby and return for the Concert at 7:00pm

Questions may be directed to Prof. Anthony Zilincik (Capital University) who is coordinates our Master Classes.

Details for the 2015 God and Country Master Class are pending.  As the Chicago Staff Band will arrive later in the day and we will not have a guest soloist, it is likely that we’ll have some type of clinic.  There may be a joint performance opportunity for some youth brass musicians, and if that becomes the case, our clinic may be a reading rehearsal.  Details are forthcoming soon.  (last updated 28-Jan-15)
